MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING OF MARCH 10, 2014
CALL TO ORDER
The Port Townsend City Council met for a workshop meeting on March 10, 2014 in the Cotton Building
at 607 Water Street. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m., by Mayor David King.
ROLL CALL
Councilmembers present at roll call were Pamela Adams, Robert Gray, David King, Kris Nelson, Catharine
Robinson, Michelle Sandoval and Deborah Stinson.
Staff members present were City Manager David Timmons, City Attorney John Watts, Community
Services Director Rick Sepler, Public Works Director Ken Clow, Finance Interim Special Projects Manager
Bob Jean, and City Clerk Pam Kolacy.
STRATEGIC PLANNING
City Manager David Timmons noted that this was the last session scheduled for creating the three-year
strategic plan. Once completed, it will come before Council for public comment and further discussion.
Facilitator Casey Reeter reviewed the 3 -Year Draft Strategic Plan created after last month's workshop
that included the three-year priorities SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) exercise.
Council participated in a discussion to refine the strategies and actions desired to implement the
previously identified strategic objectives: long-term growth strategy; improved infrastructure to
support business growth; sustainable future for public services and facilities; strong education economy;
and health City organization.
Several additions and changes were suggested and will be incorporated in the final 3 -year Strategic Plan
schedule for discussion and possible adoption in April.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
