AN ORDINANCE ADOPTINC BY REFERENCE CERTAIN TRAFFIC
REGULATIONS CONTAINED IN RCW 46.61 AND APPLYING THE
SAME TO PROPERTY OF THE PORT OF PORT TOWNSEND LOCATED
WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF PORT TOWNSEND;
DEFINING TERMS; ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS;
AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR
SESSION ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Sect. ion. !. Pursuant to RCW 35.21.180, the City of Port
Townsend does here and hereby adopt by reference all of the rules
of the road contained in Chapter 46.61, Revised Code of Washing-
ton, as now or hereafter amended, and the same shall apply to all
property of the Port of Port Townsend located within the City
limits of the City of Port Townsend, and more particularly de-
scribed as follows:
All of that area bounded on the East by Benedict Street, on
the North by Sims Way/State Road 20, on the West by Hill Street,
and on the South by the inner harbor line.
In addition, all of that area formerly part of the U.S. Coast
Guard Station atat Point Hudson within the City, more particularly
described as that area bounded on the West by Monroe Street, on the
North by Clay Street, and on the East and South by the inner har-
bor line of Port Townsend Bay.
Section 2. All streets, roadways and driveways within said
areas shall be and shall be deemed to be public streets and high-
ways as defined by Title 465of the Revised Code of Washington.
Section 3. The speed limit for all motor vehicles traveling
in or upon all such streets is here and hereby established as a
maximum of fifteen (15) miles per hour.
Section 4. Any violations of the provisions of this Or-

dinance shall be a misdemeanor, provided, however, that the viola-
tion of any regulation relating to traffic including parking,
standing, stopping, and pedestrian offenses is a traffic infrac-
tion except for those violations of Title 46 RCW set forth in RCW
46.63.020, as now or hereafter amended.
S~.tfip~. ~5r. This Ordinance is made and adopted pursuant, to
RCW 53.08.220, and Resolution Nos. 50-88 and 51-88, of the Port
of Port Townsend.
S.ec~iQn..~. This Ordinance shall become effective upon its
passage, approval and publication in the form and manner provided
by law.
Read for the first, second and third times, passed, by the
City Council of the City of Port Townsend, and approved by the
Mayor this 3rd day of May, 1988.
