AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PLACING OR LEAVING
OF CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF SIX YEARS UNAT-
TENDED; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS
THEREOF; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATEs
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR
SESSION A$SEMBLEDi, ~O ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person having
the care, custody or control of any child under the age six (6)
years, to place or leave said child unattehde~ by a competent
or responsible person in a car, home or building, or under any
other circumstance in which such child may be in danger or suffer
through lack of attention to its needs.
~SD~t~Qn~_2.. Any person violating the provisions of this
Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by
a fine not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100) or by imprisonment
in jail not to exceed thirty (30) days or be both such fine and
imprisonment.

passage and approval and publication in the form and manner pro-
vided by law.
