Meeting was called to order by Acting Chairperson Frank Kilh.am.
',ii_nutes' of the previous meeting were reed and a`)proved as corrected.
Librarian Beverly Lamb read the monthly, report with a. copy given to each
Board member. The ',4cnaughton plan books arrived on 'Monday and were
ahnost all P,,one by Wed. The no fines are working well. There are no
Library cards for city residents in anticipation of the Gaylord .14achine.
0''1,Nr will be h,ore on Jan 20 at 2:30. An order of $1000.00 for books
has.been sent, half of which is childerns books. The new Library hours
will." be effective .Tan 3. Open house is Jan 22. See Attached copy for
detail. s .
There will be a work day scheduled, for Jan 9 at 10:00 a:n.
The signs and the parking lot have been discused Bob Yandell will talk to
Ed Hawley about the signs.
The Hook selection Policy was rear] and adopted.
The Lost book policy was discussed and Was adopted and will be $10.00
for adult hardbac cs $6.00 for juvenile hardbacks, and $1.50 for paperbacks,
or payment of in kind service to be deter.nined by the Librarian and non
co inlian:ce on the part of the borrower, will result in forfeit ofApriveleges.

The meeting room policy was adopted with the deletion of paragraph four
of section F. And the Change of date of expiration of meeting room use tO
Janua.ry'�rather than'July. There was also some spelling corredted.
The new position of. Administrative t'ssistan` 6 was discused and accepted
b;, the Board.
The City Council tabled the Plan for hiring a firm to do a study on enlarging
the :Library, this plan if done soon would beneficial should government
funding become available again.. We sho ild as Board membe •s talk to the
(" i.ty Council membors that we know and explain why this plan should be d : ne .
There was quite some discussion on how to keep the City Uouncil informed
as to the activities of the Library. A monthly letter was .nemtioned,
a la.is.ion between the Library in a Council hiem l,er was discussed. Nothing
was decied but all wi.:l.1 give some thought to the improvment of communication.
