Minutes of the July 29, 1976, meeting were re;:d and approved. 'Monty McCoy, the Clerk Treasure, gave the board a little run down on hov,the Library is funded through the city. fie also gave us notice that the proposed budget must be in the City Hall by Sept -Of. ;4.7 Hazel Lewis acting Librarian read the library report on the current stasis of the library. Attached is the full report. From the survey taken in August about the hours of the Library there cores two Proposals before the board. The first is to expand the Library hoursato 52 fro-m.38. The second proposal is th establish a positionof Assistant Librarian. Both proposals are attached for further investigation. Corespondance was read and appropriate Action taken. Old Business. The fire wall can be done _ , with a minimum of I inch sheet rock. We; must now check some ffi& s with.our budget. We recieved the inform�..tion on the `IcNaughton Plan and all board members are seriously considering i.nplementing the plan. The Black topping will be done as a city maintance ,job and we considered at least 10 feet. $ob will take care of all the details.. Eleanor gave the history of our Library and this will be put in the personnel file. The Misplay Case will be used by the Library until. Community groups are ready to display. Kay Goodhue, Librarian in Kanhohu, Iiawaii, gave us some pointers on our library, some points were.good others should be responded to soon in order to make this a better li-brarlr. It was quite nice of Kay Goodhue.to take her time to give the Library hoard her opinions. NEI%' DUSENESS The mens Garden Club has asked for the 3rd Wed. of each month to use the meeting room. The board assured Stanly �tInderson, the garden clubs representative, that as soon as the new librarian was hired that the meeting room ti:,iil be open to their, until then could they be patient. Bob Yandell has drafted a report to the City Council updatin the tatis o the library and suggesting the posibilit�t of a councilman 1 library- board &4 The board discussed the letter and gave approval that it he a report to the City council, to help keep theca infor Q of the Port Townsend Public Library.
