Port Townsend Library Board Trustees me6 at the Library at
1:00 P.M. August 4th. Members present were, Dr. Chuljl:an, Mrs
Crist, Dorothy Hunt, and Librarian Mrs Wallin.

The librarian's report for the pervious month. was read and
Mr Horace McCurdy, who has always been interested in the
Port Townsend Library has been contributing books to fill our
"Northwest Corner" of the Library. It was decided by those present
that the secretary write a letter thanking Mr McCurdy for his
continued interest and his generous contributions of books.
Mrs Wallin stated that the RCA Record Company have been
4Vending, records on loan to the library. She has just received
a shipment of ninety.
A discussion of the Budget .followed, the Fund for extra help
being of most importance at this time. It was the decision of
members present that a Special Ordinance Request for :11'1246.00
for extra help from September through the balance of the year.
This request to be submitted in proper form by Mrs Wallin.!
The 11g4�pbleon the street in front of the library was the
next piece of business. We have received some complaints concern-
in7; this from patrons parking in front. The Secretary was asked
by the members to write to Uptown Business Club, c/o Mr Fred Lester,
asking; about removal of this standard. We would use this pole on
the lawn terrace, as a flagpole set in concrete or aggra-�,ate.
Discussion was held about raising fines. Board decided no
increase yet- -Mrs Wallin is still checking; about missing books
from Library. -
