Trustees of the Library Board met at the library for their regular
monthly meeting. Present were Chr Potthoff, Dr Chuljinn, Mr Nichols,
Mrs Crist, and TJrs Hunt.
Minutes of the December meeting were read and. approved.
Mrs Wallin read the librarian's report, which is here on file.
Mrs Vall:i_n f'eminded us of the civic groups that meet here, and stated
that Mrs Johnson has contacted her, asking for permission to use the
board room for Summer School Loard meetings. Permission has been given
in the past to other groups, so Board members gave permission, provided
this does not interfere with Mrs 11allin's scheduled use of the room.
Mrs VJallIn informed us that National Library Week would be in April.
•She has in mind a special speaker, Dr Quast, who is a professor at
44 Peninsula Collet -e, Port Ang -eles. The board agreed that she should.
contact Dr Quast.
Next the Board reviewed a report made for the State Library, which
shows the circulation here for the past thr66 years. This report is
on file on the attached page.
The Board next discussed an offer of a gift of a private library.
This offer was presented to Yrs Wallin by Dr R. Carter, who knows the
individual, whose home is in San Francisco.
There was much discussion as to number of volumes, storage problems
we would incur, transportation, financing, etc by the members.
Yr and Mrs VIallin are planning a trip to San Francisco sometime in the
44 near future, for other reasons, and will contact the person who has
made this offer, and view his collection, if possible.
