The meeting began at 6:40 pm
The board reviewed the concerns they felt relevant to a formal evaluation of
Bev Lamb's work which would be scheduled for a later date.
Among these concerns, on the negative side were
1. communications problems - -.in particular, the adding of CETA people with -
2. problems of library tidiness board approval
3. problems in staff management
4. problems in tending to details - -e.g. providing evaluations of the staff
on the positive side, board members commented on
1.. the improved children's library and programs
2. new acquisitions generally
3. the micro- Irc_oA system
4. the general direction (vision) the library was taking
Bev Lamb felt her weaknesses were in staff training and keeping; the board informed
and felt good about the children "'s program and the answering of users' questions
The 1978 evaluation was reviewed and it was pointed out that both the strength .
and weaknesses that were noted at that time were still., apparent.
It was suggested that another evaluation of library holdings be made.
Time for the formal evaluation was set for after the April board meeting.
The meeting was completed at 7:30 pm
