The meeting was called to order at 7:35.
In attendance were Konrad Schwenke, John Marckworth, Dick McCurdy,
Laurie Stewart, Bev Lamb, and Cheryl Van Dyke.
Carol Baird gave a report on her progress for publicity for the
Library Planning Project.
1. Presentations will be given to the list of local groups
attached.
2. A basic presentation outline is attached.
3. A letter of agreement for contract presentation of the
Public Library Services Plan was signed by Carol and the
Board.
Librarian's Report (attached):
1. A quilt owned by Peter Gritt is on display at the Library.
The quilt is for sale and the Library will receive part of the
funds if the quilt is sold while at the Library.
Committee Reports:
1. The window repair is almost finished and the Building
Committee recommended that the front canopy by the next
priority for repair.
. 2. The Contract for Services from the Jefferson County
Library was signed.
Vouchers were signed.
There were no communications.
Old Business:
I. Dick McCurdy was unanimously approved as a temporary
voting member of the Library Board in the absence of Vicki
Lea - Shelton.
2. The City Council budget hearing will be in December.
The Library Board will have a final budget meeting with the
Mayor in October.
3. The Library Committee from the City Council will be in-
vited for a library tour. Laurie Steward will be in charge
of the tour.
New Business:
1. The Board discussed the establishment of a buildiing
maintenance plan.
l.. The Board will invite Jan Blumberg from the Washing-
ton State Library to outline similar plans and help
establish goals and priorities.
2. The Jefferson County Library Board and interested
volunteers will also be invited to help participate
in the WSL presentation.
