December 17, 1984
Called to order 8:00 P.M.
Present: John Marckworth, Sue Sidle, Laurie Stewart
Chem], Van Dyke, Beverly Lamb
Communications:
A letter from a library patron displeased with the computer
printer noise was read. The signature was illegible. The
matter was referred to the computer committee for consideration.
Librarian's Report:
The Christmas open house will be held at the library
on December 19 from 4 -6:30 and will include music ,readings,
and refreshments.
The 1984 budget through 12/17 was reviewed
Committee Reports:
City Council: $3,500 was added to the 185 budget with
the understanding that the funds will be for building
maintenance and expenditures will be reviewed by the council's
finance committee. The Council approved $900.00 for magazine
shelving. Laurie will contact Pete. Raab to expedite the
project.
There was discussion of a suggestion to be:,.presented to
the council recommending that council appointed boards
meet occasionally as a group and also that board, member
contributions be recognized by the council on their retirement.
Building: The flagpole base is finished and will be
installed when the flagpole is painted. Weather conditions
will not permit completion of the cornise painting. Laurie
will contact Tom Plut and theproject will be postponed.
Downstairs lighting was discussed and Laurie will obtain
cost information. Bev reported some new roof leaks.
Grant: Sue and Bev are working on a proposal for LSCA
Title I funds pertaining to assessing the needs of local
senior citizens.
Old Business:
The material selection policy was discussed and approved
as amended.
New Business:
A 16mm Bell & Howell projector was donated by Bill
Benedetto.
