PORT TOWNSEND LIBRARY BOARD
SPECIAL MEETING
December 7, 1987
Call to order at 7 :30 pm.
MOTION, made and carried to accept resignation of Cheryl Van Dyke.
A library book to be dedicated in her name; a letter from chairman.
Meeting was attended by Karen Chang, City Council membdr, and
Gwen Howard.
Librarian has reworked budget figures, including additional $2500.
allowed by City Council. General discussion of budget; and
of percent of salary package to total figure. Other libraries
in the State have varied ratios, several over 70%,
MOTION, made and carried to accept budget as revised at this meeting.
Workshop with staff to be held January 23,
Library will close Christmas Eve at 3 pm, unless City Hall closes earlier.
On New Years Eve, at 6 pm after party.
Discussion of plan for elevator in City Hall, apparent lack of advance'
planning, possibility of suggesting fund use for library,
Next meeting December 21, to adopt job descriptions and sala�cy.-ranges.
