Communications:
• Received thank you card from Lynn ring in regards to library advisory note congratulating
her retirement.
Comments about hours reduction were summed up by Theresa Percy, themes were:
unhappy with AM hour cut, most people can work around hour reduction.
In response to question about the potential to merge county and city library reviewed Bill
Maxwell's document on the library board's position. Caitlin to send edits to Bill.
Public Comment:
• Bill Maxwell spoke to Bill Howard who applauded the board and library's handling of the
changes at the library.
• Wes Eng gave feedback that the community perception of the library is that is does not
meet the needs of the city. His perception is that we are a highly educated community yet
our library has cut its hours, needs more computers, more books and a bigger building.

Summer reading starts tomorrow
New teen space is set up in library
Teen advisory board has 22 teens and 10 -14 shows up for the monthly advisory
meeting
YA usage is up
New Business:
David Timmons has requested the board talk to other community organizations about 2008
fundraising.

The PT Library Board would like to meet with the county library board to share capital expansion
mission. Bill to contact current County library board president.
Eileen to contact Kris Mayer in regards to setting up a follow up meeting for 90 minutes as soon as
possible. Kate, Bill, Eileen, Caitlin and Theresa to attend.

Board members to host a welcome reception for new city council in November 2007.
Director's Report: (see Theresa's May report with following additional items):
• Friends of the library approved the purchase of the counter.
• A library patron requested a stool for upstairs and to use Firefox instead of Explorer.
When we were unable to accommodate the Firefox request it resulted in a threat made
to Theresa. Police were contacted.
• Theresa shared the binder, which will be sent to Humanities Washington and will be
used as an example for community read program.
