Communications:
• Community read is going very well. Two hours after the PT Leader article ran, the book
was unavailable at the library. Theresa said the library gave out 50 copies and 30 copies are
currently in circulation. It is a great response to the community read program. In addition,
William James the bookseller bought a large number of copies. Reminder on March 7 ,1' there will
be PT Shorts and a Mountain art exhibit downtown as part of the program.
Director's Report: Theresa just had a meeting with the Foundation Exec board to determine how
to get money for the capital project feasibility study by David Moen. Bill encouraged all board
members to donate to the feasibility study.
Foundation update: Nellie Trotter will be joining the library foundation board. David Uwelling a
former Foundation board member recently passed away.
The county library is still recruiting for the CLAN manager and technical services leader.
Wednesday, February 25 will be the last of the county /city library adventure series.
The new hours, the economy and the increased staff have helped the PT Library have the highest
circulation ever (23K) in January 2009.
In April the focus will be on poetry and we should have a National Poet Laureate doing a reading.
The library received $3,000 from First Federal to put toward the summer reading program. The
theme will be around "world" and there will be an adult summer reading program this year as well.
Currently, reviewing the collection policy with the new Maritime center to see how it intersects.
May have materials listed in CLAN but available for check out only at the Maritime center.
The library's Annual report will be delivered to the City Council in March.
