Subject: RE: PT Library Advisory Board Minutes - 01/25/10
Fran,
I note from the minutes the committee met in executive session. First I would not encourage the committee to do
this without advice from the City Attorney. Second state law requires that the purpose of the executive session be
stated and that the purpose must be compliant with the purposes that are permissible for executive session.
I may assume this had to do with personnel. If it is, I would strongly caution against this in the future. Personnel
matters are very complex and liability exposure is high. If there is a personnel issue, I would suggest I or the City
Attorney be contacted to attend and discuss any concerns.
But for now, please amend the minutes to reflect the purpose for the executive session. John Watts can help
clarify any questions on the requirements for disclosure.
Sorry about this, but we have to address this.
David
