1. Director's Report
Chris Meyer is performing a feasibility study on a collaboration between the School District and
P.T. Library. She will talk with educators, parents and visit private schools. (Will students will be
included in Survey ?) Survey questions will include:
• Do people see the library as a value
• How do people seek information
• How do people see the public library's role in schools
Theresa met with Michelle Sandoval and discussed library's interaction with the public schools.
Michelle asked for a list of library programs that have been provided that are relevant to P.T.
students.
Saturday Jan. 23, Dilara and lmran Hafiz discussed the book they co- wrote, Muslim. Teenagers. in
America. Strong outreach to high- school in advance of presentation but few teens attended. How can
library get the word out to appropriate audience'?
• Send notice to Superintendent of Schools about upcoming pertinent events
• Advisory Board attend School Board Meetings when library /school collaboration on
agenda
• Have a dialog with the schools regarding partnering.
11. Susan. Wilson - Grant writer and organizer of Workshops & Assistance for Job Seekers
Jan 25 begins 6 part workshop. 13 attendees today, with room for about 15 -20 more. Several
attended from Sequirn. Attendees are not required to attend all workshops.
Workshop's focus is to help job seekers market themselves.
Individual consultation and small support groups also provided.

Two more workshops to be held, dates to be determined.
• Step by step workbooks provided to each job - seeker, with online copies of workbooks
available as well.
Plans to apply for grant again next year.
A dedicated space in the library has been created for a Grant Center with a Core Collection of grant
resources. P.T. is only third location in Western Washington with this Collection. Funding for this
was provided by the Library Foundation. There will be twice yearly workshops to learn fund- raising
and grant - writing.
The Language of Food Program has been well received. There is a link on the website to pod -casts of
the series.
The North West Marine Center's collection will be listed in C.L.A.N. The library will provide a
weekly courier between the library and NWMC.
Jim Carey's report on the library retrofit /expansion will be complete by early March.
The Board met in executive session to discuss ._personnel matters and adjourned at 5:15
