Warren has taken on the role of capital campaign advisor Staff present: Theresa Percy Scribe: Eileen Prise Minutes of last meeting: Pending Public Comment — None Communications — A patron who attended the Hard Times workshop found it to be extremely useful and very well presented. Friends Report — Next used book sale is Saturday, June 5th. The Friends will be hosting a booth at the Farmer's Market, the week before and the week of the book sales, in both June and October in hopes of selling more books and reaching out to members of the public they would normally not reach. Foundation Report — 1.00% donations to capital campaign by members of the library boards reported. Vice -Prey. Mary Martin's position was filled by Linnea Patrick and Sec. Joanne Tyler spot was filled by Cameron McPherson. Staff Reports — Submitted by Cris Wilson & Jean -Marie Tarascio Director's Report — Submitted by Theresa Percy. The following items were added at the meeting: • As a follow up to the February meeting where outreach to local Hispanic families was discussed, Theresa met with Fr. Tolpin and the Hispanic outreach coordinator at the Catholic Church. The coordinator will conduct an informal survey on library usage with these families so that PTPL can see if it is meeting their needs. • The future library capital project will be decide at the May 17th City Council meeting. All board members, friends and family are encouraged to attend and show their support. • Books acquired by the library under the Hard Times grant are extremely popular. The availability of these materials highlight the proactive way in which PTPL is helping solve a community need. • PTPL currently has appropriations requests with Rep. Dicks and Senators Murray and Cantwell. • Gov. Gregoire will be in Port Townsend this Thursday but will not have time to visit the library. • Architect Jim Cary's new library renderings were shared with the board. The lower floor will add 5,000 square feet of work space. Old Business - None Meeting adjourned at 5:1ONext meeting is Monday, May 17th 4:00 p.m., at The Pink House COPIED TO COUNCIL.
