Port Townsend Library Advisory Board Minutes
PRESENT: Fran Post, Eileen Price, Caitlin Harrison, Theresa P., Benjamin Dow & Wes Eng
Absent: Bill Maxwell, Ken Dane
I. Public input: no input from public
11. Building Committee report: Bill couldn't go, Fran went instead. (See building committee notes
for complete details.) I -lad details about expansion plans. Some details: Donor tiles in entryway,
bridge between two sections, metal roof that looks Mediterranean from outside, all windows new
in Carnegie, 3 self- checkout stations and memorial tiles that currently exist will be reinstalled.
• Caitlin Question: Does committee have builder now? Answer: Yes, Fred Kimball.
11. Director's Report:
• Charlie M. has resigned as Foundation Board president.
• Handed out Packets of raffle tickets to board members for capital campaign. Eileen will manage
funds
• Moving into phase 3 of collaboration with schools and integrating CLAN into schools.
• Beverly S. will work with Theresa on funding proposal for CLAN integration for First Federal.
• Working on adding into Hard Times program services specifically targeting veterans
• Meeting with other non - profits to figure out how jobs program dovetails with Worksource,
OlyCap, etc.
• Eileen P. will be working on a special events committee to work on fundraising events for capital
campaign. Will work with person from Friends and Foundation and others with past fundraising
event experience
• Over 200,000 USD in pledges from calls to private donors
• Expansion will create flexibility and useability
• Recent failure of Fire District measure does not effect plans for Councilmatic Bond to finance
balance of remodel
