Public Comment — None
Communications — Patrons have expressed excitement over the Library Learning Center, the gold
library cards and the Community Read
Friends Report — Book sale was held Saturday, March 10 at the Rec Center and over $3000 was
raised.
Foundation Report — Eileen attended the February meeting as Advisory Board liaison and Caitlin the
March meeting. Fran reminded us that she receives the minutes from these meetings so we
need not take detailed notes when attending.
• President Cameron McPherson will be away for 6 months so board members will take turns
running the meetings.
• Next meeting is April 10th at 7:00 at the Library Learning Center.
Staff Reports — None
Director's Report — In addition to Theresa's printed report:
• On March 28th companies will begin bidding on the seismic work to be done on the
Carnegie
• The library will close on April 6th and reopen at Mt. View on April 16th. The length of
time it will remain at Mt. View is dependent on funding for the capital campaign.
• The library staff is organizing a "Stand in Line" event for April 9th (moving day) at
3:30. The object is to form a continuous human line and pass a book from the library's
current location to its temporary one at Mt. View.
• The Teen Community Read begins next month. The chosen book is entitled, "Blank
Confessions."
Old Business /New Business —
• Welcome to our new board member — Kiera Miller Hodlik.
• Goodbye and thank you to our outgoing board member — Caitlin Harrison.
• Board members revisited whether bimonthly meetings are proving adequate for the
Advisory Board. It was decided that for now they are.
• Board members signed up for the next several months' worth of Foundation meetings.
Meeting adjourned at 5:15. Next meeting is Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Library Learning Center.
