AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
OF CERTAIN LANDS IN JEFFERSON COUN`1'Y
FOR GRAVEL PIT PURPOSES, AUTNO RIZING
PAYMENT OF THE PURCHASI: PRICE AND THL
EXECUTION OF DOCUMENTS, AND PROVIDING
FOR PAYMENT FROM REVENUE SHARING FUNDS.
THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, IN REGULAR SESSION
ASSEMBLED, DO ORDAIN AS. FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are here and hereby
authorized to accept and pay for a tract of land approximately
twenty acres in extent, which contains a gravel deposit, for use as
a city gravel pit, from the record owners thereof, which land is
more particularly described as:
The westerly one --half of'the Northeast quarter
of the Southwest quarter of Section 7, Township
30 North, Range,I West, Willamette Meridian,
except rights of way for county roads.
Section 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are here and hereby
authorized to pay to the lawful owner thereof, upon submission of
title insurance and properly executed documents, showing clear title
transferred to the City of Port Townsend, of the sum of Twenty
Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00).
Section 3. There is here and hereby authorized to be
expended from the revenue sharing fund for the purpose of paying the
purchase price hereinabove provided the said sum of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000.00).
Section 4, The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to
accept a deer the purposes mentioned which reserves unto the
grantor, for his life time, a first right of refusal in the event
of sale of said property by the City.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its pass-
age, approval and publication in the form and manner required by law.
Read for the first, second and third times, passed by the
Council and approved by the Mayor on June 5, 1973,.
