Mayor Smith presiding. ROLL CALL Officers and members present-were as f'ollows: Mayor Smith, City Attorney Abraham, City C~rk Youngblood, Councilmen Scheyer, Hoglund, Judy, Camfield, Steve, Lindsey, Norwood. MINUTES OF TIE PREVIOUS SESSION I The minutes of the previous session were read in full and it was moved by Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Judy that the minutes be approved as read and the Mayor and City Clerk sign same. Counci1m~n Norwood said that she had had another request for a street light but had misplaced it and could not remember the name of the person or the stæet and asked it the local paper could put it in the paper in hopes that the person or persons would- see it and rewrite the rer1Uest. OLD BUSI N:2SS I Under Old business the city clerk brought back upon the floor Ord. No. 1598 and 1599, duly recorded in the minutes of the previJus session for passage or rejection. ORDINANCE NO. 1598 It was moved by Councilman Judy seconded by Councilman Hoglund that the.first~regding of °rd. No. 1598 be considered the seconC:;_.reading and the third reading be by title only. Motion carried. Ordinance No. 1598 was again read for the third time by title only and it WaS moved by Councilman Judy seconded by Councilman Lindsey that Ord. No. 1598 be now adopted. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 1599 8 It was moved by Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Camfield that the first reading of Ord. No. 1599 be considered the second reading and the third reading be by title only. Motion carrie d. ORDINANCE NO. 1600 I AN ORDINANCE VACATING THAT PORTI'\N OF' HOOD STREET LYING WEST OF COV!LES ADDI TI')N TO THE CITY OF PORT TO'.VNSEND, RESERVING EASEj\1ENTS THEREIN, AND PROVIDING FOR COSTS OF PUBLICATION. It was moved by Counc:i1man Lindsey seconded by Counc i1man Camfield that the first reading of Ord. No. 1600 be considered the second reading and the third reading be by title only. Motion carried. NO. 1600 I Ordinance No. 1600 WaS again read for the third reading by title only and it WaS moved by Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Judy that Ordinance No. 1600 be now adopted. Motion carried. HEr! BUSINESS Mayor Smith said that a proposed ordinance had been drawn up, which is an ammendent to the basic water ordinance, it has been under discussion by the water department and water committee, it has changes such as hook-ùp fees and the establishment of a revolvi~ fund, and there was also a back up ordinance establishing of a revolving fund. Attorney Abraham asked the council to pay particular attention to the ammendent of Section 8 and it comes up under section two. ORDINANCE NO. 1601 was again read for the third time by title only and it was moved by Counci~- man Judy seconded by Councilman Lin dsey that Ordinance No. 1601 be now adopted. Motion carrie~. Mayòr Smitþ asked the City Clerk to read the Back Up Ordinance that would establish the Water Main Revolving Fund. ORDINANCE NO. 1502 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ~pU), 000.00 TO THE WA1'ER MAIN REYOLVING FUND IN THE 1970 BUDGET OF THE WA'I'ER-SE\'VER DEP ARTÌ'li~NT, AND DECLARING AN EhillRGENCY, Due tó the nature of the above ordinance it had to be held over until the next regular session. Mayot 'Smi th said that there were two young men here who V1ere proposing to start a business in town and they would like to have the council know just what type of business they would like to establish. Mr Beebe introduce himself and also Mr Nebish his partner, he said that the~ hoped to open a coffee shop in quarters behind the Parsons Lighthouse Cafe for ~rson~ under twenty one, it would be something like a teenage night club featuring dancing, imported coffees and teas and possibly soup. He also gave a personal background of himself and his partner. He mentioned some of' the renovation that they here doing and would be open to any suggestions and vlol.Üd make Tlvery ef.fort to respond to the wishe s of' the public. Councilman Hoglund called for a budget meeting on the 23rd and po~:sibly a following one on the 24th at 8:00 p.m. at his place of business. ADJOURNMENT As there was no further business to come before the counc i1 at tl"Üs time, it was moved by Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Judy that the meeting do now adjourn. Motion carried.
