COMI'ÆUNICATIONS From Port Townsend Planning Commission, Oct. 27, 1970, to-wit: Honorable j\;Iayor City Council Members City of PortTownsend The Port Townsend Planning Commission recommends to the Port Townsend City Council that that portion of Hood Street, west of Cowles Addition, be vacated in favor of Roger Dickerson, M.D., and Ann Dickerson, as re~uested. Port Townsend Planning Commission Kay f,'Iiner Ac t ing Chairman Mayor Smith said that 'this is a recommendation by the Planning Commission that the council has been waiting for and did not know whether the street committee was ready to make a recomm- endation or not, the petition had been tabled unti11 all committees were ready to.report. It was moved by Councilman 3teve seconded by Councilman Lindsey to take the pet~6n off table. Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS Mayor Smith said that under old business, the request for the vacation of parts of Hood street by Ro'3er Dickerson & Ann Dikerson would now be taken up. '.l'he Ci ty C1Brk again read the request. After the reading, the Mayor said the planning co~~ission had recommended the vacation and that there had been no comment at the public hearinG held. It was moved by Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Stove that the portions of Hood street be vacated as requested. ~otion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 1597 Ordinance No. 1597 duly recorded in the mi utes of the previous session w~'s again brought upon the f'loor for passage or refection. It was moved by Councilman Hogl~nd seconded by Councilman Camfield that the first reading be considered the second reading and the third reading De by title only. I:lotion carried. Ordinance No. 1597 WQS again read for the third reading by titlevonly and it was moved by Councilman Hoglund seconded by Councilman Scheyer that Ordinance N . 1597 be now adopted. I The undersigned owner or all real estate abutting upon portions of the Streets herein described, does hereby petition the City Council of' the City of Port To\"ffisend, State of Wash- ington, to make vacation or and to vacate those certain Streets described as follows, to-wit: I That portion of Grant Street lyIng between Seventh and Sixth; That portion of Sixth lying between Hendricks and Sherman; That portion of Eighth lying between Wilson and Gise; and that portion of Wilson lying between Ninth and Seventh, all in Eisenbeis Addition to the City of Port Townsend, Jef'ferson County, State of Washington; 8 Petitioner does further petition that this matter be referred to the proper committee, and upon said committee making a ifavorable report threupon, that notice of hearing of this Petition be had in the manner and form as prescribed or ordinance and law. Smitþ I Mayor Smith referred the Petition to the Street Committee and the Planning Commission for a recommendation, saying if the recommendation is favorable, then a public hearing will be scheduled. I Mayor Smith said that according to statuet he had turned into the city clerk Preliminary Budget and to go on record as doing so. He said that cover letter to the budget and as soon as the clerk could refigure and retype the budget it to the public. Mayor Smith commented briefly on the preliminary budget and said that the job ánalysis firm could meet with the'council some time next week, after some discussion it was decided by the council that a meeting be held with the Donworth firm at ~:OO p~Ü11. 11hursday the 12th at Don's Pharmacy and budget sessions to be called ror later. Mayor Smith stated that the final budget hearing would be held at 8:15 p.m. in the council chambers December 1st. the Mayors would be"attàcheâ would be'availabie . ADJOURNMENT I As there was no further qusiness to come before the council at this time, it was moved by Councilman Lindsey seconded by Councilman Scheyer that the meeting 6,0 now adjourn.
