MINUTES OF TI-IE REGULAR SESSION OF APRIL 4th 1967 CON'I'INUED
Abraham said that he and the Chief of ?olice already had an ordinance in mind, one which wruld
empower the police depörtment to issue citations to the owners of any vehicle p3rked for more
than 24 hours on any city street. Mayœ Sullivan asked the City Attorney if he would have such
an ordinance for the next regular session.
Mr Frank Badolato - Resident Engineer for the Sewer project said that he would like to know t e
date of the Rody Fest:lffa1 so that he could inform the ,contractors who in turn would clean up an
would not be in the rob.d during the f'estival. Mayor ~ullivan informed Mr Badolato that the
festival would.b~ from the 15th to the 21st of' May.
ADJOURNMENT
As there was no further business to come before the council at this time it was m~ed by
Councilman Carter seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum that the meeting do now. adj9urn. Motion
carried.

MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS SESSION
The minutes of the previous session 'ivere read in full and it was moved by Councilman Judy
seconded by Councilman Ruby thöt the minutes be approved as read and the Mayor and City Clerk
sign same. Motion carried.

TWO new improved street lights at the corner of Monroe and Lawr,;:;nce as well at Franklin an d
Monroe. He said that the new vapor lights should be installed and that at San Juan and F. St.
a new vapor light should be installed as "vell. 1Douncilman Rudy made a motim seconded by
Councilman Ruby that new vapor lights be installed in pli:lce of' the old type lights. Motion
car.ried.
Counc ilman Ruby said thö. t Mr Porter. has asked if' the city wo~-11d bE int.eres ted in a .block of
land right next to the treatment center. 11> stated tha t the council should look into the matter
and the-'price should not exceed $;4,000.
City Attorney Abraham said thö.t it would be a wise thing to do if the land could be purchased
now for he was sure that in the near future the city muld be rsquired to have a secondary
treatment plant. He said he was not sure but it might be possijle that the land could be
Durchased out of the constructions f'und.
Á Mayor Sullivan referred the ma tter to the Finance Cå>rmni ttee to contact Mr Porter and see what
could be done.
Councilman Ruby said tha t the council should start looking for a illécn to work
Inent center f'or it would not be long before it would be completed. Councilman
should be left up th the department head. Mayor Sullivan said that the matter
under consideration.
NIl" Ron Mayo of Carey and Kramer reported on the feasibil:ity of seHer extensions on Discovery
Road and Jackman Street, he said that he had contacted McLean and Co. financial advisor f'or the
City of Port Townsend and it was their suggestion that it would be bE:st to wait until the II' eser.it
construction on hand was finished.
Mr Frank Badolato gave a short report on the progress of the sewer project, saying it was
moving a little faster than before, but had trouble in trying to locate the sewer from the City
Hall und so far hadnt found where the connection was, he suggested that the sewer pipe in the
basement mould be changed, for the line VIas clay pipe and should bE: cast iron.
Ccmncilman Ruby gave a report on the beautificD.t.ion tour before council meeting and Mrs Grady¡
was a very good hostess and mentioned that thoes thi:lt MIll could not attend really missed
something.
