NEW & OLD BUSINESS
Engineer Becker reported on the request for a sidewalk by the Parent Teacher Association ö.t
Blaine Steet between the streets of Walker & Benton. He said it would take a lot of excavation
and without an LI D it would be almost impossible. He suggested that the street be widened out
about 15' and asphalted and stripes put on similar to 19th street, it ww.ld serve two purposes,
it would make the street for a two way traffic and it would give the school children a place to
walk. He said this could not be done t~Üs construction season on account of the sewer project
and suggested the street De closed to through traffic during school hOur8, barroicades could be
put up in each block, it could be handled by the police department or sorneother depö.rtment.
After some discussion, Mayor Sullivan asked Street Supt. Arey to see that the streets were
barricaded during school hours and to inform the Parent Teachers Association o.f the councils,
intentions for the future.
Councilman Ruby made a motion seconded by Councilman Sweitzer that a vapor light be installed
