From Mrs A. Clemens Grad~ Port Townsend, Wn. to-wit: Sept. 6, 1966 Dear Mayor Sullivan and City Council Members: , Recently the attached brochure was passed on to me from Mr. Paul 'l'hiele, who formerly served as Secretary of the Port Townsend Chamber of Commerce. . . I i.mmediately wrote to the "All-American City" Organizati -n to find what entry might entail, and the attached letter assures me that there is no entry fee nor ar'e we obligated in anyway. Since the deadline date is September 19th, I had the Chamber of Co~nerce Trustees take up the matter last Friday, and they voted to sponsor the entry. So that we may all be working together, I am wondering if the Council mi~ht want to join in the sponsorship? I will prepare the questionaire, and do all the work, but would like to be able to-call upon the City Officials for data, etc. Then, should we get into the semi-finals, some of the judges fron All-American City'Organizapion and LOOK magazine would come out to see what we are doing. If that might come to pass, we woula want to put forth our bast, so would probably all be enlisted toward winning the Award. Thanij: you for your cooperation. . Sincerely, Irene J.
