The City Council of the City of Port Townsend met in special session this 24th day of May 1966,
at.7:30 p.m. in the council chambers of the City Hall. Mayor Sullivan presiding.
ROLL CALL
Officers and members present were as follows: Mayor Sullivan, City Attorney Abraham, City
Clerk Youngblood, Councilmen Swietzer, Hoglund, Judy, Ruby, Lindsey & Carter, & Siebenbaum.
MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS SESSION

It was moved by Councilman Hoglund seconded by Councilman Ruby that the minutes of the
previous session be dispensed with. Motion carried.
Mayor Sullivan informed the council that this meeting was set to hold a public hearing on
the vacation of a portion of the West~rl~ 110 feet of Franklin Street lylng between the West
boundary of Jackson Street and the East Boundary of Monroe Street and that no other business
would be transacted.
PUBLIC HEARING

Mayor Sullivan asked the pu~lic if,any objection to t~e vacating the portion of said street.
No objections. Mayor Sullivan asked the deces::'on of the comcil. Attorney Abraham aaid that
Marilou Green Chairman of the planning commission had phoned him and said that the planning
commission was in favor of the vacation.
Councilman Siebenbaum made a motion seconded by Counciman Ruby th8.t the city vacate thö.t
portion of the Westerly 110 feet of Franklin Street lying between the West boundary of Jackson
Street and the East Boundary of l\~onroe Street and that the city reserve an easement over, 'across
and through the portion of the vacated street fåœ the purpose of install:i.ng and maintaining
utility line s and servic~~s of all kinds for theinspectj.on and servic ing thereof. Motion
carried.

Councilman Ruby introduced three High School Students, one from ChimacL~ and two from Quilcene,
the students ö.sked questions concerning -the needs of the city plus the working:3 of the City
Government. All questiuns were answered by the City Attorney and memberE: of the City Council.
ADJOURNMENT
As there was no further business to come before the co'mcil at thœs time it was moved by
Councilman Judy seconded by Councilman Siebenbaum that the meeting do now adjourn. Motion
carried.
