RESOLUTION NO. 83-1
A RESOLUTION DEDICATING CERTAIN
STREETS AND ALLEYS FOR PARK PURPOSES
Councilmember Ciprioti made a motion to refer this to the Street
Committee which was seconded by Councilmember Hunt. There was
some concern about restriction on the Kah Tai Care Centers street
vacation request expressed by Councilmember Hunt. Ms. Lois Flury
explained that all these streets were within the perimeter of the
proposed park and necessary to complete the land acquisition
and gain points for the development qrant.

ORDINANCE NO. 1948
AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY
OF THE CITY ATTORNEY
Mr. Grove read the ordinance by title. Councilmember Hunt made a
motion that the first reading be considered the second and the
third be by title only which was seconded by Councilmember Ciprioti
and passed unanimously be voice vote. Mr. Grove again read the
ordinance by title. 'Councilmember Ciprioti made a motion to adopt
Ordinance No. 1948 which was seconded by Councilmember Imislund
and passed unanimously by roll call vote.
ADJOURm-1ENT
There being no further business, Mayor Shirley declared the meeting
adjourned at 10:00 P.M.

SPECIAL SESSION OF JANUARY 25, 1983
The Port Townsend City Council met in special session this 25th day
of January, 1983, at 7:05 P.M. in the Council Chambers of City HalJ~
Mayor Brent Shirley presiding.
Councilmembers present when the meeting was called to order were
Frieda Imislund, Mike Kenna and Janis Hunt. Councilmember Joseph
Ciprioti arrived at 7:09 P.M. Also present was City Clerk-Treasurer
David Grove.
Mayor Shirley announced that he would

There being no further business allowed, at 8:10 P.M. Mayor
Shirley closed the meeting at the conclusion of the interviews.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SESSION OF FEBRUARY 1, 1983
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend met in regular
session this 1st day of February, 1983r at 7:30 P.M. in the
Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Brent Shirley presiding.
ROLL CALL
I
Councilmembers present at roll call were Joseph Ciprioti, Janis
Hunt,Frieda Imislund, Dale Judy, Mike Kenna and James Parker.
Also present were City Attorney Glenn Abraham, City Clerk-Treasurer
David Grove, and Public Works Director Ted Stricklin.
COUNCILMEMBER SELECTION
Mayor Shirley asked for nonimations to fill the vacant council
seat. Councilmember Ciprioti suggested that a written ballot be
used listing all applicants for the position which was done. The
names of Jean Camfield, Henry Edgarton, John Floyd, :Rich Rivers,
and Gary Wall were listed on the ballot. Mayor Shirley asked if
any further nominations were to be offered. There bi~ing no further
nominations, Councilmember Kenna made a motion that ,the nominations
be closed which was seconded by Councilmember Hunt and passed
unanimously by voice vote. Councilmember Ciprioti made a motion
that the Councilmembers circle the name of the applicant listed
on the written ballot that they prefer, sign it and turn it into
the Clerk-Treasurer who will read them aloud which was seconded
by Councilmember Kenna and passed unanimously by voice vote. Dale
Judy, Joe Ciprioti, Jim Parker and Janis Hunt voted for Jean
Camfield. Mike Kenna voted for Gary Wall and Frieda Imislund voted
for John Floyd. At the direction of Mayor Shirley, Clerk-Treasurer
David Grove administered the oath of office to Phyllis Jean
Camfield after which she assumed a seat on the Council. Mayor
Shirley thanked all candidate~ who applied and encouraged them
to file in July and go before the people.

MINUTES
Councilmember Kenna made a motion to approve the minutes of January
18 and 25, 1983, as written and to dispense with the reading of
them which was seconded by Councilmember Imislund and passed
unanimously by voice vote.
