AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND REVISING
CERTAIN REFERENCES TO BUILDING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT AND BUILDING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR TO DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
DEPARTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT
DIRECTOR, AND CERTAIN REFERENCES TO BUILDING AND
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT AND DIRECTOR TO
LONG RANGE PLANNING DEPARTMENT AND DIRECTOR, BY
AMENDING PORTIONS OF TITLE 1, TITLE 2, TITLE 3, TITLE 5,
TITLE 9, TITLE 12, TITLE 13, TITLE 16, TITLE 17, TITLE 18,
TITLE 19, AND TITLE 20
WHEREAS, following recommendation of the City Manager to re-organize the
City's permitting system, and in conjunction with the adoption of Ordinance 2890
defining the position of Development Services Department Director, and Ordinance
2891 defining the position of Long Range Planning Director, the City Council
determines it appropriate to make the following amendments to the Port Townsend
Municipal Code (1) to change certain references to the Building and Community
Development Director and Building and Community Development Department to
Development Services Director and Development Services Department, and (2) certain
references to the Building and Community Development Director and Building and
Community Development Department to Long Range Planning Department and Long
Range Planning Department,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend ordains
as follows:
SECTION 1. References to Building and Community Development
Department and Building and Community Development Director in the sections shown
on attached Exhibit A are hereby amended to read Development Services Department
and Development Services Department Director.
SECTION 2. References to Building and Community Development and
Building and Community Development Director in the sections shown on attached
Exhibit B are hereby amended to read Long Range Planning Department and Long
Range Planning Department Director.
SECTION 3. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application
to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the
application of the provision to other persons or circumstances is not affected.

This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five days after the date of its
publication in the manner provided by law.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, Washington, at a
regular meeting thereof, held this twenty-first day of March, 2005.
