AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND ESTABLISHING THE
WAGES FOR THE POSITIONS OF SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
TEACHERS, PROGRAM INSTRUCTORS, AND TEACHER AIDS
WHEREAS, beginning January 1, 1995, the City agreed to take over the public
recreation and swimming pool programs, located at the Mountain View Elementary School and
owned by the Port Townsend School District; and
WItEREAS, following numerous public meetings of the Parks, Recreation and Property
Committee of the City Council, and based on extensive public comments and testimony and '
input from the Port Townsend School District, the City has established a new recreation
program, to include new fees, staffing, and services to be provided, including a "Summer
Enrichment Program;" and
WHEREAS, wages for the staff positions provided in this Ordinance have been
appropriated in the 1995 Budget,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend, in regular session
hereby ordains as follows:
Section 1. From and after June 1, 1995, the following part-time City positions are
established and wages fixed not to exceed the stated sums, which wages shall be paid monthly.
Summer Enrichment Program Teacher (Certified) .......... $15.00/hour
Summer Enrichment Program Instructors (Non-certified) ...... $10.00/hour
Summer Enrichment Program Teachers' Aids ............. $ 6,50/hour
Section 2. Any and all actions taken pursuant to the authority of this ordinance but prior
to its passage are hereby ratified and confirmed.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days after the date of its passage,
approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
Read for the first, second, and third times and passed by the City Cguncil of the City of
Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting this [ ~/eday of June, 1995.
