HomeMy WebLinkAbout2516 Public Works Service Fee ScheduleOrdinance No. 2516 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AMENDING SECTION 020, PUBLIC WORKS SERVICE FEE SCI-1EDULE, CHAPTER 3.36, PERMIT, APPLICATION AND APPEAL FEES OF THE PORT TOWNSEND MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, the City has adopted an ordinance governing utility latecomer agreements; and WI-W~REAS, the City Council desires to set the contraCt administration fee at a.level to offset the City's administrative costs, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend does ordain as follows: Section 1. Subsection D, Latecomers administration fee, Section 020, Public works service fee schedule, Chapter 3.36, Permit, Application and Appeal Fees of the Port Townsend Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Chapter 3.36 PERMIT, APPLICATION AND APPEAL FEES Sections: 3.36.010 3.36.015 3.36.018 3.36.020 3.36.030 3.36.040 3.36.050 Fees - General. Fees - Building and land use. Appeal fees. Public works and utility billing service fee schedule. Fees - Sewer connections. Utility and garbage deposits. Fees - Fire department permits and inspections. 3.36.020 Public works and utility billing service fee schedule. The fees and charges listed in this section for services of the public works department and the finance department for utility billing are established. The fees and charges shall be paid in advance unless an alternate method of payment is specifically .approved by the director of public works. The continuance or establishment of water and/or sewer service by the city shall be contingent upon payment of all fees and charges contained in this section. The following schedule of fees and charges shall be used: Fees and Charges Sununary Description Charges A. If more than four and one-half hours of total review and process time is required, an additional hourly charge based on the rates set forth in this chapter shall be made. The city will make an effort to forward all applications for water system installation, extension, or improvement to department of health in order to minimize charges to each applicant. However, in the event it is not possible to forward more than one application, the applicant will be required to pay this amount in its entirety prior to the city processing any such applications. Section 2. Severability. If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this Ordinance or its application to any person or circumstance is held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such order or judgment shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remainder of any part of this Ordinance. To this end, the provisions of each clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this law are declared severable. 6 Ord. No. 2516 This ordinance shall take effect April 1, 1996.
