AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND AMENDING
ORDINANCE 2524, TO ESTABLISH THE POSITION OF CITY ENGINEER
AND ESTABLISH A SALARY FOR SUCH POSITION EFFECTIVE
OCTOBER 1, 1996
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to establish the position of City Engineer for the
City of Port Townsend and establish a salary for such position effective October 1, 1996. The
position will be a non-bargaining unit employee and will not be subject to any labor agreement;
and
WHEREAS, Section 3 of Ordinance 2524, adopted at the May 6, 1996 regularly
scheduled City Council meeting, shall be amended to add the position of City Engineer,
establishing a salary of $4,398.00 per month, effective October 1, 1996,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Port Townsend does ordain as
follows:
~. Section 3 of Ordinance 2524 is hereby amended to add the position of City
Engineer, establishing a salary of $4,398.00 per month.
S~ion 2. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any person
or circUmstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the provision
to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
This ordinance shall take effect October 1, 1996.
Read for the first, second, and third times and passed by the City Council of the City of
Port Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting thereof, held this 3rd day of September 1996.
