Minutes of the Meeting of December 7, 1998 (continued from December 2, 1998)
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Julie McCulloch at 2:45 p.m. in the City Council
Chambers. All council members were present except Mr. Welch who was excused.
An updated list of proposed budget adjustments was provided by Michael Legarsky.
Building and Comrnuni~_ Development
Members of the department were available to answer questions on a recent memo distributed to
council.
Mr. Shoulberg moved for tentative approval of the BCD Budget. Mr. Badame seconded.
Mr. Keith proposed an amendment to add $10,000 funding for a seasonal permit
technician. Ms. Jenks seconded. The amendment carried 5-1, with Mr. Badame opposed.
The main motion as amended then carried by voice vote, 5-1, with Mr. Rambo opposed.
Ci~_ Clerk
Mr. Shoulberg moved for tentative approval of the City Clerk's budget, with the addition
of $3,000 in revenue from the P.E.G. Access Studio and $3,000 addition approved
expenditure for Professional Services. Mr. Keith seconded. The motion carried
unanimously 6-0.
Non-profit organizations
Ms. Jenks moved for tentative approval of the Main Street budget with the addition of $1,370 for
bulbout planting and Maintenance.at the Taylor Street intersection. Mr. Keith noted that that
would be an appropriate use of LTAC fund. The matter will be taken up in conjunctin with the
LTAC budget.
Mr. Finnie moved for approval of all other non-departmental budgets as presented in the Mayor's
budget with the exception of the Intertgovernmental Services contract. Ms. Jenks seconded. The
motion carried 5-1, with Mr. Rambo opposed.
Intergovernmental Services Contract
Mr. Keith moved for approval of the intergovernmental contract package with Jefferson County
for a total of $299,385. Mr. Badame seconded. The motion carried 5-2, with Mr. Rambo and
Mr. Shoulberg opposed.
At 5:00, the meeting was continued to a date certain to be set at the regular council meeting set to
begin at 6:30 p.m. on this day.
