AN ORDINANCE fixing and adopting the 1998 Budget for the general
city government, the water-sewer utilities, the storm and surface water
utility, bond redemption funds and the capital improvement program.
The City Council of the City of Port Townsend, in regular session assembled, does ordain as
follows:
Section 1. Appropriation for the 1998 Budget is hereby made for the General City Government
for the purpose and in the amounts following:
Current Expense
Garbage
Street
Arterial Street
Library
Parks and Recreation
Hotel-Motel Transient Tax
Capital Improvement
Equipment Rental
Firemen's Pension and Relief
PEG Access Studio Fund
Fire Dept. Pump Test Pit

Section 3. Appropriation is hereby made for the 1998 budget for the Storm and Surface Water
Utility in the sum of $597,454.
Section 4. Appropriation is hereby made for the 1998 budget for the bond redemption funds as
follows:
Limited Tax General Obligation Bond Redemption, 1990
Limited Tax General Obligation Bond Redemption, 1991
Limited Tax General Obligation Bond Redemption, 1993
1978 Water Revenue Bond Redemption
1978 Water/Sewer Revenue Bond Redemption Series "B"
1992 Water/Sewer Revenue Bond Redemption
Local Improvement District No. 1

Section 5. Due hearing having been held, the preceding five sections hereof are hereby
fixed and adopted as the budget for the year of 1998 for the City of Port Townsend and its
various utilities departments and funds.
Section 6. The projects and amounts shown as funded for 1998 in the Capital
Improvement Program attached as Exhibit "A" are hereby adopted as set forth therein.
Section 7. If any provision of this ordinance or its application to any person or
circumstance is held invalid, the remainder of the ordinance, or the application of the provision
to other persons or circumstances, is not affected.
Section 8. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval, and publication
in the form and manner provided by law.
Read for the first, second, and third times and passed by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend, Washington, at a regular meeting thereof, held this Sixteenth day of December, 1997.
