of December /2010.
The improvements to Madison Street will provide improved access and accessibility to the
businesses on this street. The project will create needed infrastructure, which will result in
two prime pieces of commercially zoned properties adjacent to Madison Street that could
potentially build four-storey, commercial/resiidentual buildings. These lots have been
without infrastructure for over 100 years and this project will remove impediments to their
development. There are multiple studies that can measure the potential streetscape and
infrastucture development of properties and economic vitality. Even without this
immediate development we estimate at-risk downtown businesses wiN retain. or increase
by 14 jobs. Additionally, the City of Port Townsend anticipates a 25% increase in the
number of events in 2010 that would be conducted: on Madison Street, compared to 2009.
