The City Council of the City of Port Tomnse~d met in regular session this 5th
day of July, 1978, at 7:32 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, ~ayor Pro
Tem Dale Judy presiding.
ROLL CALL
Councilmembers present at roll call mere: Dale Judy, James Parker, Richard
Shaneyfelt, Elizabeth Smith, and James Wilson. Tom Camfield and Joseph Ciprioti
mere excused. Also present mere City Engineer Roger French, City Attorney
Glenn Abraham, and City Clerk-Tresurer David Grove.

A motion mas made by Councilmember Parker to approve the minutes of June 20th
and 27th, 1978, as mritten and to dispense mith the reading of them mhich mas
seconded by Councilmember Smith and passed unanimously by roll call vote.

A motion mas made by Councilmember Wilson and seconded by Counoilmember Parker
that the bills and claims be paid mhich mas passed unanimously by roll call vote.
COmmUNICATIONS
~r. Grove read a letter from Del Graham dated received June 23:, 1978, opposing
pamking meters on Washington Street mest from the Haller Fountain to Tyler St.
Councilmember Smith asked if the Committee mas ready mith a recommendation on'
the domntomn parking situation. Councilmember Parker indicated vacations have
interupted their deliberations. The members of the Committee then discussed a
meeting time and agreed to try to have a recommendation ready for the Council
at their next regular meeting.
COmmITTEE REPORTS
Legislative-Environmental - Councilmember Shaneyfelt reported that the Committee
recommends a proposed negative declaration of non-significance be issued on the
revised Environmental Checklist submitted by Thomas N. Bruneau and E. A. Von
Reutter on the proposed~ development titled "The Cloisters" consisting of 27 lots
for single family dmell~ngs and 85 multifamily units o? .27..8. acres of land, 12½
acres of mhich mill be dedicated for public recreational use. He made a motion
to that effect mhich mas seconded by Councilmember Wilson and passed unanimous-
ly by roll call vote.
NEW BUSINESS
Variance~Application No. 7804-02
Lockard
Councilmember Smith made a motion that a public hearing on this application be
held at the regular meeting August 1, 1978, mhich mas seconded oy Councilmember
Shaneyfelt and passed unanimously by roll call vote.

Petition for Side-Semer Contractor's License~Bruneau - It mas explained that his
application mas approved by the Semer Superintendent and Mayor ProTem and that
the bond has been supplied as required. Councilmember Parker made a motion to
approve the issuance of a license to Mr. Bruneau which mas seconded by Council-
member Judy and passed unanimously by roll call vote.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, Mayor
ProTem declared the meeting~adjourned at 7:44-p.mo
