Melody Sky Weaver started as Library Director for the City of Port Townsend in 2015. Prior to
that, she was Branch Manager for the Kitsap Regional Library for nearly four years, Librarian for
the Boise Public Library for over three years, and began her career as a
the Garden City Public Library for two years. Sky Weaver also has a background in fine art and is
passionate about access and equity to public institutions such as public libraries and parks, and
works to foster environments that support lifelong learning and bring people together.

Sky Weaver last day in the office will be August 28 and she begins as Washington State Librarian
on October 1. City Manager John Mauro and his director team will explore short- and long-
term approaches for continuing the important work of the Community Services Department.
