Such approval certifies that construction will meet the visual approval of the Designer. Confirm location to keep ensure adequate access to outlets { A_)\ Orientation Exhibit - Plan 1.0 ) Scale: 1/4" = 1'-0" 1.0 ARCHITECTURE: 1.1 The exhibit is to be installed in a historical building. Before altering any element of the existing building, fabricator to receive written authorization from Museum director. Shop drawings to specify building alterations. 1.2 Fabricator responsible for field verifying all existing building conditions and adjusting dimensions accordingly. 1.3 Access to the exhibit space is available via the front double doors and a small elevator located on the side of the building. Fabricator should verify dimensions of access prior to proceeding. Copies of the general building plans are available upon request. 2.0 EXHIBITS - GENERAL 2.1 All materials and finishes to meet UBC for fire spread. Fabricator should have a thorough understanding of these code requirements. 2.2 All platforms to meet UBC requirements for fire spread. Fabricator responsible for appropriate materials and construction techniques to meet these requirements. 2.3 All case interior finishes to be sealed with 1-175 Polyglase Water Borne Finish. Books located in side shelves will be supplied by and installed by the museum. 3.2 Fabricator responsible for printing and mounting all graphics in this package. Designer will provide scaled digital files for printing. 3.3 All digital graphics to have a low luster protective lamination applied to surface. Prints to be museum quality print Durst Lambda output or approved equivalent. 3.4 Fabricator responsible for specification of graphic mounting substrate. Must be integral color stable material free from warping, expansion and contraction. 4.0 MATERIALS AND FINISHES 4.1 Wood: unless noted otherwise, all wood to be hardwood, with a stain and polyurethane finished in accordance with the Western Wood Products Association grade descriptions. 4.2 Unless otherwise noted all metal brackets and fasteners to be finished smooth with no sharp edges. 4.3 Before applying any finish to exhibits, Fabricator to supply Museum and Designer with 2 finish samples on specified materials for approval. 5.0 LIGHTING 6.0 ELECTRICAL 6.1 Fabricator responsible for providing electrical connections from available power outlets (floor, ceiling, wall) within the museum space to all exhibits. All connection methods are to meet local and state electrical codes. 6.2 Where exhibits cover electrical boxes or outlets, fabricator responsible for providing concealed panels to provide access to all connections whether shown on drawings or not. All details and methods of access to be approved by Designer and Museum. 7.0 SPRINKLERS/PLUMBING 8.0 AUDIO VISUAL/COMPUTER - Hardware 8.1 All A/V & computer hardware unless noted otherwise to be purchased and installed by Fabricator. 8.2 All A/V computer hardware listed within drawing set are for recommendation only. Fabricator is fully responsible for final selection to meet exhibit intent. 8.3 Fabricator responsible for all exhibit controllers which are used to control an exhibit function. 8.4 Prior to fabricating any exhibits which contain A/V or computer equipment, fabricator to obtain equipment sizes and environmental operating conditions and adjust cabinet work accordingly.
