HomeMy WebLinkAbout26-015 Authorizing the Application for Loan Funding for Remainign Design and Construction of the Holcomb and Wilson Street Sewer Upsizing Project in an Amount not to Exceed $2,169,000Resolution 26-015 RESOLUTION NO.26-015 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR LOAN FUNDING FOR REMAINING DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE HOLCOMB AND WILSON STREET SEWER UPSIZING PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $2,169,000 WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend's ("City") 2024 Adopted General Sewer Plan identifies Capital Improvement Plan Project No. SM1, SM3, and SM6 to replace and upsize gravity sewer infrastructure near Holcomb and Wilson streets to address hydraulic capacity deficiencies and projected peak flows; and WHEREAS, the Holcomb and Wilson Sewer Upsizing Project will replace and relocate approximately 2,410 linear feet of existing gravity sewer using a new 12-inch and 18-inch gravity sewer alignment, improve long-term maintenance access, and provide the downstream capacity needed for projected flows from the Rainier Subarea and future Mill Road Lift Station; and WHEREAS, the City will apply for a loan from the Washington State Public Works Board to finance eligible remaining design and construction costs in an amount not to exceed $2,169,000; and WHEREAS, the City commits to providing required local matching funds, repaying the loan, and abiding by the provisions of the loan agreement, if awarded; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend to authorize application to the Washington State Public Works Board for loan financing for remaining design and construction of the Holcomb and Wilson Street Sewer Upsizing Project in an amount not to exceed $2,169,000.
