RESOLUTION NO.26-016
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOWNSEND,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR LOAN FUNDING FOR
PLANNING AND PRE -CONSTRUCTION OF THE MONROE STREET LIFT
STATION REHABILITATION PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$780,000
WHEREAS, the City of Port Townsend's ("City") 2024 Adopted General Sewer Plan
identifies Capital Improvement Plan Project No.WWI Existing Monroe Street Lift Station
Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Monroe Street Lift Station Rehabilitation Project will extend the lift
station's original design life cycle by including interim improvements intended to repair, upgrade
or replace mechanical and electronic components and increase pumping capacity to 1010
gallons per minute. The General Sewer Plan concluded that increasing pumping capacity alone
would not fully resolve the station's capacity deficiency; and
WHEREAS, the City will apply for a loan from the Washington State Public Works Board
to finance eligible planning and pre -construction costs in an amount not to exceed $780,000; and
WHEREAS, the City commits to providing required local matching funds, repaying the
loan, and abiding by the provisions of the loan agreement, if awarded;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Port
Townsend to authorize application to the Washington State Public Works Board for loan
financing for planning and pre -construction of the Monroe Street Lift Station Rehabilitation
Project in an amount not to exceed $780,000.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Port Townsend at a regular meeting thereof,
held this 20th day of July, 2026.
