Minutes of the Port Townsend Regular Session Arts Commission Meeting of August 7
LOCATION:In-person at City Council Chambers and Remote
MEMBERS’ PRESENT: Alexis Arrabito, Heidi Tullmann, Joshua Saunders, Sheena Uritz, Dan Groussman
Lynge was absent.

Call to Order Chair Alexis Arrabito called the meeting to order at 3:
Approval of Agenda Dan Groussman moved to approve the agenda.
seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Approval of Minutes for July 3, 2025 Joshua Saunders moved to accept July 3,
Joe Gillard seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Public Comment None
Chair Update Chair Alexis Arrabito started a round table introduction for
new and current members.
Treasure Update Joe Gillard gave an update on the budget and treasurer
report.
Staff Update Katy Goodman gave an update on the Racoon Lodge, street
painting hurdles, poet laureate, grant recipient videos, and
the 1% for the arts. Discussion ensued about the 1%,
skatepark, and future city projects.
Review Programming & Budget Request for 2026
Commissioners discussed pass and future
maintenance for art, educational outreach,
budget, the towns’ artistic identity, and the city’s
public art
Poet Laureate Discussionensued on the city resources for the youth, future
of the program, and the needs of the poet laureate
Arts Awards The Commissioners discussed the past arts awards and
what the awards are about, disadvantage artists, and
Townsend Soundcheck.
Grant Funding Discussion ensued about check list, grant minimums,
diverse waysto offer grants, rubrics for grant recipients and

Commissioners,
Budget Katy Goodman discussed the PTAC budget,
of the budget and the benefit to the city, cash prizes for
recipients, marketing, Port Townsend Art identity,
advocating for artists, and LTAC grants. Heidi
motion to approve the budget to City Council.
Saunders seconded. Motion passed unanimousl
