CITY TO HOST WALKING, BIKING, AND CONNECTED COMMUNITIES OPEN HOUSE
Participants at a workshop -style open house will discuss and plan the future of
Port Townsend"s walking and biking network.
PORT TOWNSEND — City Council, staff, and community advisors will host a public open house
for the City's Active Transportation Plan on Wednesday, January 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 at the
Community Senior Center, 620 Tyler Street. Parking is limited, so please walk, bike, roll, take
the #11 bus, or carpool to this event. The Active Transportation Plan is part of the larger
Comprehensive Plan Periodic Review process currently underway.
This workshop -style open house is focused on improving walking, biking, and connectivity in our
neighborhoods. Participants will see the results of an Active Transportation Plan community
survey and discuss current challenges, like gaps in walking and biking routes, ADA access, school
access, and more. Staff will present draft concepts for the Plan that address some of these
challenges and request feedback on the future of Port Townsend's walking and biking network.
Assistant City Engineer Jeff Kostechka, who is the staff lead on this effort for the City of Port
Townsend, says: "Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Active Transportation Plan
Survey and broader Comprehensive Plan process so far. Whether you're a walker, biker, or just
passionate about connected communities, we want to hear from you. Together, we can build a
more connected Port Townsend."
