Carburotor & Intake Manifold for Mack Pumper ) $300.00 Requisition Granted It was moved by Councilman Paddock, and seconded by Councilman L•'ronimo, that the fore- going requistion be approved and Fronted. Upon roll call vote, all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirmative and the motion was declared carried. From City Clerk The City Clerk presented a requisition for a nem Typewriter st a cost of approximately $135.00, plus tax. Requisition Urnnted It was moved by Councilman Meuller, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan, that the fore- going requisition be allowed. Upon roll call vote, all seven Councilman present voted in t113 affirmative and motion was declared carried. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS Townsend Transit Franchise Ordinance An ordinance providing for the granting of a Fr nchise to Townsend Transit, which was read in full for the first reading ❑qu' the regular a ssion of February 21, 1950, was pre- sented and read in full at this time for the second •ending. It was moved by Councilman Steele, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan, that the third reading of the Ordinance be by Title only. Upon rol call vote, all seven Councilman pre- sent voted in the offfr-mative and the motion was dec ared carried. Third Reading and Passage The Ordinance under consideration was read by Title only for the third reading and it was thereupon moved by Councilman Mueller, and secon ed by Councilman Eronimo, that the Ordinance do now pass. Upon roll call vote, all sev n Councilman voted in the affirmative and the motion was declared carried. Street Dent, F.mervenray Ordinance An Ordinance providing for an emergency apprcp)b ion for the City Street Fund for 1950 was presented and read in full for the first reading, at this time, as follows: ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port Townsend provi ing for the appropriation of money for expenditure during the year 1950 to meet unfor•s en costs for Street repairs during snid year and declaring an emergency. INHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of t e budget fox, the Street Department of the City of Port Townsend for the year 1950, the cost of repairing the City Streets due to der,.nge cussed by the severe cold of winter of 1949-50, could not have been for - seen, and, 71HEREAS, the cost of repairs therefore no submitted to the City Council, exceeds the budget itme by the sum of $500.00, and the same is hereby recognized as a proper and established charge, therefore TYE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT T0.'NSEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLO1.VS: Section 1. That an emergency is hereby found and declared to exist requiring the appropriation of the sum of $500.00 for the City Street•Fund of the City of Port Townsend, to meet unforeseen costs of street repairs as aforesaid during the year 1950, and that the City Clerk be'and he is hereby authorized to sign emergency warrants upon said fund not exceeding said sum of w500. 0, upon the presentation of properly approved vouchers. Sewer Connection Charge Ordinance An Ordinance providing for the leveying of a set fee for permission to connect to City Sewers was presented and read in full, for- the first reading, at this time, as follows: .. ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE. of the City of Port Townsend providing for regulation of sewer connections fixing fees for said connections, and providing penalties for violations. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TW,NSEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOPlS: Section 1. That for the purpose of regulating and. minimizing damages to the .city sewers anc streets there is hereby provided a fee of $40.00 for- sewer connection, for which a permit shull be secured and fee paid before permit be connect shall be issued. Said fee is for the purpose of repairing damage to the city streets occasioned by said connection, and the street superintendent shall be informed of each connection before work shall commence. Section 2. That any violation of this ordinance shall be deemed a misdemeanor and any person, I1 m or corporation convicted thereof shall be punished by a fine of not exceeding $100.00, or by imprisonment in the city Jail for a term of not exceeding 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 3. That this ordinance be published once in the Port Townsend Leader to be in lorce an take effect as provided by law. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this day of , 1950. Third reading and Passage The proposed Ordinance was read by Title only for the third reading and upon completion thereof, it was moved by Councilman Mueller, and seconded by Councilman Steele, that the Ordinance do now pass. Equipment etc., A general discussion relative to necessary first -aid and safety equipment, or lack of same, carried in the Police cars; also 4ith regard to first -aid training of the personal, and method of reporting was carried on among the Councilmen, but no action taken at thi time. heport from Sanitarian Councilman Steele, noted that Mr. Goo. Greene, Olympic Health Dist. Sanitarian, was present and inquired if he had a report to make at this time. Mr. Greene reported that the past week had been mainly devoted to sewer matters. The Health Dept. is at present at work upon an Ordinance relative to building, particularll with regard to health factors, which they contemplate presenting to the OOumil for consider- ation at a later date. He stated further that he was arranging to make a complete survey of the City to determine the adequacy-6f present sewer facilities, the necessity of addilona facilities and feasibility of installing same.
