This Block was owned by my wife, Mrs. Sophie H. Bliss. ' No payment has been made for this right of way. I contacted Mr. Daly, the then City Attorney, first in 1945 and again about a year later. He promised to look into the matter and to let'me know the results. I did not hear from him. I have seen the present City Attorney, Mr. C. T. Williams, 'twice on this matter and on his advice, the City Cleric, Mr. Christian. They, advised that I write this letter. A little over one-half of one lot and part of another was taken for the right of way. I am enclosing a 1948 Tax Statement for information. The tax visa lowered some- what when the Right of Way was taken. I request thnt Mrs. Bliss be paid for the pro- perty taken. Please return this tax receipt. Yours very truly, James B.
