be granted in accordance with the foregoing applications. Motion carried.
COMMUNIC ATIONS -
Communications were presented and read, and acted upon as follows:
From James Bt oliss, to -wit:
Mayor Anderson and City Council March 14, 1950
of Port Townsend, Washington
Dear Sirs:
Sometime ago a road was constructed to Fort Worden, and the right of way went
thru a corner of Block 62 of the Pettyg:,ove 2nd Addition. This Block was owned by
my wife, Mrs. Sophie H. Bliss. '
No payment has been made for this right of way. I contacted Mr. Daly, the then
City Attorney, first in 1945 and again about a year later. He promised to look into
the matter and to let'me know the results. I did not hear from him. I have seen the
present City Attorney, Mr. C. T. Williams, 'twice on this matter and on his advice,
the City Cleric, Mr. Christian. They, advised that I write this letter.
A little over one-half of one lot and part of another was taken for the right of
way. I am enclosing a 1948 Tax Statement for information. The tax visa lowered some-
what when the Right of Way was taken. I request thnt Mrs. Bliss be paid for the pro-
perty taken. Please return this tax receipt.
Yours very truly,
James B. Bliss
633 Van Buren St.
Port Townsend,.Wash.
Because of the fact that the property referred to in the foregoing communication has
since been entirely or partially sold this matter was referred to the City Attorney to de-
ter -mine whether or not this claim might now be valid.
Steele arrives
Councilman Steele arrived during the reading of the foregoing communication and took
hart in the later proceedings.
Hon. H. E. Anderson, Mayor, March 11, 1950
City Council;
Port Townsend, Wash.
Your Honor and Gentlemen:
We hereby make formal request for information regarding costs and regulations in
order that we may avail ourselves of the use of the Willow Street Sewer facilities.
Yours very truly,

Councilman Gleason reported that the affluent from the edptic tanks: serving the pro-
perties of the above petitioners is at present running onto City Streets and cannot be
properly handled otherwise. These people are very anxious to have oroper savior fadiities
and are willing to pay for the installation if within reason. They would prefer to have
the installation carried out by the City if legally posAiblq, cost of same to be borne by
them.
It visa moved by Councilman Gleason and seconded by Councilman :3:ullivan, that the City
Engineer prepare an estimate of cost for the needed Sewer Facilities and the City Attorney
investigate the legal requirements of such installation. Motion carried.
From the Assoen. of ';;ash. Cities,
Bulletins from the Assocn, of Washington Cities were a9cnowledged received and were
tar dered filed for reference in the City Clerkts Office.
