February 21, 1950 The CITY COUNCIL of the City'of Port Townsend,' Washington met in regular session this 21st day of February, 1950, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall Mayor H. E. Anderson, presiding. ROLL CALL officers and members answering present to Roll Call were as follows: Mayor, H. E. Anderson; City Attorney, C. T. Williams; City Clerk, C. F. Christian; and Councilmen, Wm. A. Paddock; Geo. F. Meuller;: H. E. Gleason; Ralph H. Steele; `cony P. Eronlmo; and Dennis Sullivan. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION The minutes of the previous session were read in full and following such reading it was moved by Councilman Meuller, and seconded by Councilman Sullivan, that the minutes be approved as written. Motion carried. APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSES The City:Clerk read the applications of Sterling J. Smith for a Taxi -cab Driver's License, same having been approved by the Chief of Police. It visa moved by Councilman Gleason, seconded by Councilman Eronimo, that license be granted as per the foregoing request. Motion carried. From Ted Baker, to -wit: Honorable Mayor of' Port Townsend February 20, 1950 and Councilmen I hereby apply, for permission to install one pinball machine at "Ted is Grill" subject to your approval end regulation. Ted Baker License Denied Councilman Meuller stated that approval of this location had been rejected in the past and he could see no reason for a change in policy at this time, so moved that license be denied. Motion visa seconded by Councilman Paddock, and upon Roll Call vote, all six Counci] en present voted in the affirmative and motion lass declared carried. REPORTS OF OFFICERS City Treasurer The monthly report of the City Treasurer for the month of January, 1950, was.presented and read, and was referred to the Committee on Finance and Claims. Mayor Mayor Anderson stated that he had been in Seattle recently and that during his stay in that City he had received many commendations upon the condition of the streets of thiss City following the recent thew, as compared to those in other cities throughouttthe state. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES Fire and Light It was moved by Councilman Paddock, and seconded by Councilman Eronimo, that the ap- lication of Clark Aldrich for a building permit, as read at the last regular session and eferred to the Committee od Fire and Light, be approved and that permit be granted sub- ject to approval by the Fire Chief. Motion carried. BUILDING EERMITS Request for building permits were presented „ read, and acted upon as follows: From Nestor Const. Co., Inc., to -wit: Honorable Mayor and City Council Feb. 9, 1950 Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: Permission is requested to make general repairs and alterations, repir the roof, and i stall a new canopy, on the Safeway Building situate Water and Tyler treats; at an es- timated cost of approximately $21,000.00.
