Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of, -this or- d1nnnce s n e deemed guilty of misdemeanor and shall be punished by fine not to exceed $100.00 or by imprisonment in the city jail not to exceed thirty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 10. Should any section, paragraph, sentence; clause or phrase of this ordinance a oeclared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of said ordinance shall not be affected thereby. Curfew Ordinance A purposed ordinance proviaing for a Curfew for minors, as requested by the Council at a previous session and prepared for presentation by the City Attorney, was read in full this time for the first reeding, as follow AN ORDINANCE making it unlawful for any child under the age of eighteen (18) years to be on the public streets, alleys, public squares, parks or sidewalks of the City of Port Townsend between certain hours and providing penalties for violations; and repeal ing ordinance No. 646 of the City of Port Townsend. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TOISNSEND DO ORDAIN AS FOLL071S: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any child under the age of eighteen (18) yea unless accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other person having the legal custody of such child, to be on any of the streets, alleys, public squares, parks, or sidewalks of the City of Port Townsend between the hours of o'clock, P.M., and 6:00 0' clock.A.Y., unless such child is therein necessari •y y reason of its employment or by virtue of a sbecial written permit dated on the day such child is so found and signed by the parent, guardian or other person having the legal custody of such child on said streets, alleys, public squares or sidewalks between said hours. Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any child under the age of ten (10) years unless accompaned by a parent, guardian, or other person having the legal custody of such child, to be on any of the streets, alleys, public squares, sidewalks or parks of the city of. Port 'fownsend between the hours of 9:30 o'clock P.M. and 6:00 O'clock A.M. unless such child is therein necessarily by reason of its employment or by virtue of a special n•ritt�n permit dated on the day such child is so found and signed by the parent, guardian or other person having the legal custody of such child found on said streets, alleys, public squares or sidewalks between said hours. Section 3. All parents, guardians, andother persons within the City of Port Townsen hsv ng or who may hereafter have immediate custody of any childunder the age of eighteen years who shall by any act or omission, encourage, cause, or contribute to the violation of the terms of this ordinance by any such child shall be guilty of a misdeemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not more than One Hundred Dollars (100.00) or imprisonment in the city ,jail for not more than thrrty (30) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 4. Any police officer of the City of Port Townsend shall arrest without warrant any ctfld who is found violating the provisions of this ordinance and shall forthwith deliver such child se arrested to the custody of a person in parental re- lation to the child, or in case of habitual or incorrigible children under said age, shall bring him or her before the police judge.
