From Port Townsend Chamber of Commerce, to -wit:
November 1, 1949
Honorable a;ayor and City Council
Port 'Townsend, Wash.
Gentlemen:
The Port 'Townsend Chamber of Commerce, along with numerous other local
organizations have written to the Stat Perks -card, Olympia, hash. urging them to take
immediate action in requesting the U.5. Coast Ouard to turn over to them the old Fort
Townsend site for use as a state park.
We request that your body send a similar letter to them urging that this be
done. 4e feel that this site is well suited for use as a state peak and the state
parks commissioners who have viewed this location are of a similar mind. However
letters are needed to back up their request to the Coast Ouard District.
We would appreciate being advised of your action.
Respectfully
Ill• M. Adkisson, Secretary

Little wuilcene Access hoad October 25, 1949
The Honorable Harry E. Anderson, mayor
Klinger Huildin.5g
Port Townsend, V'Yash.
Dear xr:.Anderson:
Reference is made to my conversation with you and -r. i Lockhart yesterday, concerni
a ripht-of-ray for the Little wuilcene Acess Road, across Oity of Port Townsend lands
near Lord Lake.
We are asking for a 66 ft. right-of-way and as the location crosses 750 ft. of City
land the right-of-way comprises 1.1 acres instead of .11 acres, which i quoted you.
The 11 acres was a typographical error in the easement, which I detected thin
morning.
As I explained to you this proposed road will tap the Little wuilcene timber and open
up a series of timber sales which will continue for 20 years or more. +'e feel that
the road will benefit the City by furnishing another acres to the pipe line, direct
acess to Loard Lake for further development, and better fire protection to the
surrounding area.
