Carroll's request be granted, subject to the approval of the Street Superintendent Lyall Arey, Motion carried. From Association of 'Sash ington Cities, Various bulletins were acknowledged received from the Association of Fyn. Cities and ordered filed in the office of the City Clerk. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS. r Proposed "cat Inspection Ordinance s i An ordinance for the protection of public health in the City of Port,'Tow:mend; rogule ing the business of slaughtering livestock; etc, was presented to the Council, by Dr. Risser, representing the Olympic Health District. After a brief explanation of the Jj ordinance by Dr. Risser he issued copies of the ordinance to the Council Tor• study; and j said ordinance was referred to the Committee on Harbor and Health. 1 UNFINISHED AND RGiR BUSINESS Garden Club makes Report t ,yearly A yearly report of the Garden Club was presented by Mrs. H. E. bukowsky, President of the club, and several recommendation were made to the city. First; that the 'Taylor '•'` Street terrace be out under the Park Department and that Mr. Paddock be given a full time assistant who could assist him in the park and also take care of the terrace; second - that the park. and terrace cr__•rtskers be made deputy police officers in order that they can take care of cases of vandalism on the spot. Mrs. Lee Davis, representing the Park r Board, stated that the Park Board was agreeable with the recommendations made by the Nr k Garden Club. Sara. BuY.oe:cky also stated that the Garden Club would be glad to furnish x 'in many shrubs and plants if the city would :form a planning board to work out a longr'range ark and citv b^butiftcatlon program. ' Re: Light at intersection of Thomas St. and Sims Nay. Councilman Sullivan stated that a light should be installed over the intersection of � Thomas St. and Sims 'Xay, and that the Council authorized the City Street Department and ; Chief of Police to install the light, as is incorporated in the minutes, in 1944 and they have neglected to do so. This matter was referred to the Street Supt. and the Chief of w Police for repay t at the next Council meeting. r From City Clerk, to -wit: } Sept. 20, 1949 ` To Whom it may concern: I' do- hereby ,appoint' W.' Motion carried.a, tv>'t Mayor r{ Attest: <<, �p r, City Clerk pro tem. 1yY" MINUTES OF STATUTORY (BUDGET) SESSIOfi OF THE CITY COUNCIL, MONDAY, Oct. 3, 1941 Port Townsend, 71ashington October 3, 1949 The CITY COUNCIL of the City of Port Townsend, Wnshington, met in Statutory Session this 3rd day of October, 1949, at 8:00 o'clock P.1.,, in the Council Chambers of the CJ.ty Hall, Mayor H. E. Anderson presiding. ROLL CALL Officers and :embers present at roll call were as follows. Mayor, H. E. Anderson; City Attorney, C. T. 'ASlliams; City Clerk, v, r. Christian; and Councilmen Tony P. Eronimo, Goo. J. Osborne, Dennis Sullivan, Geo. F'. Mueller, and Wm. A. Paddock. dUDGE'T SESSION Mayor Anderson announced that the purpose of this session was the consideration of the City '''udget for the year 1950, as provided by Statute. yr, W. J. Daly, acting for Mr. C. F. Christian, City Clerk, stated that the pre- liminary budget as revised and approved by the Mayor had been placed on file; and that proper notice of this fact and of the hearing to be held on this date had been published in the Port Townsend Leader as required by law. BUDGET CONSIDERATION Mayor Anderson announced that consideration of the City 'udget for the year 1950 was in order at this time. Consideration of the budget as filed in it's preliminary form by the Mayor, was undertaken by the Council upon the bais of each separate item of the various divisions of the respective funds, and chang�°_cordingly. City Street Fund Upon motion by Councilman Mueller, seconded by Councilman Paddock, it was resolved that the item Public Utility Excise Tax carried on the preliminary budget as an estimate receipt for the benefit of the City 6treet rund be stricken and the same be transferred and carried as a estimated receipt to the credit of the Current Expense Fund.
