Cities were acknowledge .received and ordered filed in the pffice.of the City Clerk. • CRDINANCLS AND RESOLL'1'IONS a Funchboard License Ordinance A proposed ordinance providing for the licensing and regulation of punchboards within the city which was read in full for the first reading at the last regular session, and is incorporatedoin the minutes thereof, was read in full at this time for the second reading. Wayor pro tem Denis Sullivan noted the presence in the Council Chambers of a number of local merchants who would be affected by this ordinance, and invited any who so wished to state their opinions of the conditions of the proposed ordinance. Yr. A. O, Ramsdell Inquired as to the use of the word "trade Stimulators"; asking if the ordinance would thereby cover penny scales, etc., and was advised by the City attorney that such was not the intent of the ordinance. Yr. xcr.ain, Yr. Bromley, z:r. chntos, and Air. hobbins each took opportunity to express his opinion and it appeared that the bulk of the merchants concerned favored a flat annual license fee rather than the proposed percentage of the value of each board. It was moved by Councilman dueller, and seconded by Councilman L•ronimo, that the thir reading of the ordinance under consideration be held over until the next regular session. Wotion carl�ed. Ordinance to amend *Cater Ordinance A form of ordinance which would provide for the amending of drdinance No. 1110, the present "Water Ordinance" was presented and read in full at this time as follows: ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE of the City of Port 'rownsend, Amending Section 8 of Ordinance lio. 110, passed by the City Council and Approved by the L;ayor on December 20, 1939, and entitled as follows: "AN OF.LIINANuE of the City of Port Townsend relating to the municipal water supply of said city, regulating the uses of water therefrom, provid- ing for the sale of the some, fixing the price thereof, and providing a metl'.od of collection rotes therefor, and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict therewith". THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT TXNSEND, :".ASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Section Eight (6) of Ordinance No.1110 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 8. The fees for the installation of water service as hereinbefore provided shall be as follows: ; W , Minutes cf City Council, April 194 1949, con" (Ordinance to amend 'Water Ordinance, con't.) 517 For a half inch (A) connection ................$20.00 For a three -fourths inch (3/4) connection ..... �25.00 For one inch (1) connection ................... 35.00 and sizes larger than one inch, or where it becomes necessary to open a pavement or hard -surfaced street, or for services outside city limits, the actual cost of labor and material in laying such a service and replacing the pavement or herd -surfaced material shall be charged. In such cases, and in cases of connections extending alon a street on which there is no main, the cost of material and labor shall be estimated by the superintendent and the estimated cost shall be paid to the city treasurer by the person applying for such ,installation before the work of connecting the main with the property is begun; provided, that whenever the estimated cost is not sufficient to cover the total expense for labor and material any deficit shall be charged to the property for which such installation was made and to the owner thereof; and provided furhter that any excess payment shall be returned to the person applying for the installation. This central station unit shall include Y (a) coaxial antenna with ground plane, type 2AX; (b) 50' RG8/U 52 ohm flexible transmission line; (a) One, only dispatcher's desk set with its _ associated connecting wires.
