This communication vras ordered filed.
From Margaret N. Sturrock, to -writ:
Port Townsend, Wash
Feb. 14, 1949
To the Port Townsend City Council
Dear Sir:
I am very much in favor of a bus service for our city. It has been needed for a
long time in view of the fact that out city has grown and now covers a large area.
Also, the hill between the two business districts is hard to climb, and many of us
have no cars and cannot afford taxi's every time we want to transact business down
town. And if you have ever tried to find a taxi on a stormy day or on a pay day you
will know how long you have had to stand on a windy corner before you were able to
secure a ride. There is no reason why a bus service should interfere to any great
extent with taxi service, which is also a necessity here.
In plain English - I want bus service.
Respectfully,
Margaret N. Sturrock
