Recess
It was moved by Councilman Gleason, and seconded by Councilman Steele that the Council
recess for a short period to consider the bids submitted. Motion carried.

Reconvene and Roll Call
The reconvened in regular session at 9:15 o'clock P.M. and upon roll call the following
Officers and Etembers were noted nresent: City Attorney C. T. Williams; City Clerk C. F.
Christian; and Councilmen William, Paddock, Geo. F. Mueller, Horace Gleason, Re'lph H. Steele,
Geo. J. Osborne, Tony P. Eronimo, and Dennis Sullivan.
Bide accepted.
It was moved by Councilman Steele that the bid of the Olympic Garage & Equipment Co
i upon the pickup truck for the Water Department be accepted, without provision for trade n3

of the present equipment. This motion was seconded by Councilman Eronimo and upon roll call
vote all seven Councilman presented voted in the affirmative and motion was declared carried
It was moved by Councilman Mueller that the bid of the Olympic Garage and Equipment Co

upon the dump truck for the Street Dept, be accepted. This motion was seconded by Councilm.
Paddock and upon roll celll vote all seven Councilmen present voted in the affirm tive and
motion was declared carried.
Re: Post Office garbage removal
The City Clerk reported receipt of a Federal Government Bid Form for removal of rubbish.
and ashes from the Post Office building for the fiscal year 1950, and asked the Council's
pleasure as to rates for this bid.
It was moved by Councilman Mueller, and seconded by Councilman Gleason that a bid be
tendered upon the basis of rates as established by ordinance. Motion carried.
Re: Garbage in apartment hallways
Councilman Paddock reported that garbage and refuse was being allowed to collect in
cardboard containers in the hallways serving the apartments in the Bartlett Building. Dis-
covery of this condition has been made during an investigation by the Chief of Police rela-
tive to the escape of gas from a refrigerator in the building. The matter was discussed
briefly but no action taken by the Council.
Re: Group Medical service
Yr. Merle Hufford asked, and was given permission to address the Council relative to a
group medical service program how being offered by the Jefferson CountplMedical Service
Bureau. Mr. Hufford outlined the rates for such service and the coverage provided and
presented explanatory phamplets And contract forms to those present, for consideration.
Mr. Hufford asked if there would be any objection by the Council to approaching City Employe
relative to this service.
This matter was discussed for a short period with Mr. Hufford answering such questions
as were asked, and there appeared to be no objection to the permission which he requested,
so it was moved by Councilman Steele, and seconded by Councilman Eronimo that approval be
given by the Council for such action. Notion carried.
