ROLL CALL Officers and Members answering present to roll call were as follows: Mayor pro tem Sullivan; City Attorney C. T. William; City Clerk C. F. Christian, and Councilmen. William Paddock, Geo. F. Mueller, H. E. Gleason, Ralph H. Steele, Geo. J. Osborne, 'Pony P. Eronimo. i MINUTES OF PREVIOUS SESSION Ii I, The minutes of the last regular session of the Council were read in full and upon I, completion thereof it was moved by Councilman Mueller, and seconded by Councilman Steele that the minutes be approved as written. I -lotion carried. {' APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSE From Leo I. DeYarre & Ed H. Liberato, to -wit: January 5, 1949 Honorable Mayor and City Council . �1 City of Port Townsend I� Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: The undersigned, having heretofore made arrangements for the purchase of the j, Black and White Taxicab Company, heretofore operated by Arthur L. Brown, hereby and herewith make application for the issuance of the proper city "For Hire" licenses for three taxicabs to be operated from the same stand used by the Black and White Cab Co; that is, along that portion of Taylor Street adjacent to the Baker Drug Store which Is at the intersection of Water a -id Taylor Streets, upon the westerly side of side of said Taylor Street. Applicant herewith tenders his check, which is attached hereto, in the sum of $120.00 to take care of anticipated license fees as are or may be provided by ordin- ances of the City of Port Townsend, F iL Respectfully submitted, F DeMARRE and LIBEHATO From Arthur L. You are hereby authorized to construe the application heretofore made E by me for renewal of my "For Hire" 'Taxi licdnses as made on behalf of said DeMarre an Liberato or to disregard the same in its entirety. I hereby request that the City grant the application of DeMarre and Liberato for Licenses to operate the Black and White Cab Company the same as were issued to me in the year 1948. Water Superintendent The monthly report of the 'hater Supt. for the month of December 1949, was presented and read. The report of the Water Supt. showing the flow of water tb ra:#i main line meters for the week ending January 17, 1949, and the Crown Zellerbach meter for the week ending Jan. January 18. 1949. con' BUILDING PERMITS Requests for building permits were presented, read and acted upon as follows: From Earl A. Pickett, to -wit: Port Townsend, Wash Jan. 5, 1949 Honorable Mayor & City Council Port Townsend, Wash. Gentlemen: Permission is requested to erect a wood frame dwelling, 28' x 401, on my prop situate Lots 7, 8, Block 84, Eisenbeis Addition; at an estim tad cost of approx $1,500 for materials. Gleiser, to -wit: January 18, 194 'The Honorable City Council City of Port Townsend City Hall Port Townsend, Washington Gentlemen: On the 16th day of November, 1948, Mr. George Cotton petitioned that you vacate that portion of Scott Street described as follows: In the, City of Port Townsend, Countylof Jefferson, State of Washington: All that portion of Scott Street abutting.Lot 8, +dock 30, L. B. Hastings First Addition and Lot 2, Block 29, L. B. Hastings Second Addition to the U L y of Port Townsend according to the plats filed -'for recored in the office of Jefferson Coun Audition, lying Northerly of State Highway No. 9, and Southerly-- of Washington St This petition has been reported favorably by the Committee on Streets and Sewers.
